Clik here to view.Peer to Peer, or P2P is an extremely popular way to share files on the internet. I don’t have to tell you that. I also don’t have to tell you the advantages of using a privacy surfing service like VPN software to hide your IP address while sharing music, movies, and TV on the internet. But before you sign up, you probably want to know what the best VPN for P2P and torrents is.
As you’ve probably found out, there’s a lot of conflicting opinions – but I’ll let you in on a secret – most of these sites don’t know anything about downloading torrents with P2P software. As a matter of fact, much of these “Top VPN ratings” or “VPN review” sites are just outsourced content that target specific keywords to get you clicks. Yeah, I know, I’m in the same boat.
So I hope to make this post as transparent and honest as possible. Yes, if you click on my links, I’ll make a commission. But you should know that most other sites will be the same. Even private blog owners who just blog about the time of day their cat took a dump are smart enough to monetize their site. But if you read my site and compare it to some of these other ‘official review’ sites, I think it’s obvious that I have actually used the software I blog about, and not just outsourced this post to some guy for $1.50 and stuck a couple affiliate links in it.
For what it’s worth, in my experience, these three VPN services provide the best VPN for P2P, and I’ve included the “whys”, so you know what you’re signing up for and don’t have to waste time switching services down the road.

Service #1 StrongVPN

Clik here to view.I chose this service as the number one choice for a couple reasons. For one, torrents are allowed on all servers. It’s important to note that not all VPN services allow torrents, and not all services allow torrents on all servers. StrongVPN does both.
There are a wide variety of packages that vary in subscription length, price range, preferred protocol, and IP location. Of course, I prefer to use VPN servers in The Netherlands, Switzerland, or Canada, but you’ll have to get package upgrades to get access to these servers. They do have a ‘lite package’ that’s just $55 per year – super cheap – but there are a few limitations places on it of course. You can even choose a VPN package based on where you are in the world, which will get you access to the best VPN servers for your region.
Of course, live support is a big plus for StrongVPN, and they’re around 24/7, unlike some services which boast a live service but never seem to be online. This makes solving any tech issues pretty much instant, and they’ve also got a great database of troubleshooting guides for the DIY kind of person. This is also one of the largest providers of VPN and online privacy services in the industry, so you can’t go wrong. Yes, there’s a money back guarantee as well. Oh, and dedicated IP’s are the standard for OpenVPN, while PPTP uses dynamic IPs. PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN, and SSTP are available.

Service #2 PureVPN

Clik here to view. It’s tough to compare two VPN services that are so different, but for P2P, PureVPN is also a very good choice. First of all, to get access to their full server network, which includes Canadian, Swiss, and Netherlands servers, you pay just $75 USD per year. Sure, when compared to the $55 dollar StrongVPN lite package, it’s more expensive, but remember that there are some serious limitations (server location, VPN protocol, + more).
This is also a ‘lite version’, but only in that you are limited to 30 gigabytes of bandwidth per month. Other than that, you get free server switching between 14 servers (including US and UK). If you’ve got a bigger budget however, their high bandwidth, unlimited plan is just $160 USD per year (you save 26%), as compared to $360 for StrongVPN’s most impressive plan – almost half the cost.
There’s also live support, but they’re not around all the time. Still, they’re very friendly, and it can be handy. If they’re not around, email ticket support is still an option. There’s even a 3 day trial package which is unique to Pure PVN. This is a Hong Kong based VPN service, which is an advantage for torrent fans, and they allow torrents on all servers. There’s also a money back guarantee, but its only 3 days, as compare to a 7-day one from StrongVPN. The standard is dynamic IPs, but dedicated IP packages are available as well. PPTP, L2TP, and SSTP are available

Service #3 Hide My Ass

Clik here to view. With 40+ country locations and torrents allowed on all servers, you bet this is one of the most popular P2P VPN services out there. If you sign up for a year, you pay just $6.52 per month, which is an amazing price. PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN are all included in a standard pack. They have something like 25,000 IP addresses and a couple hundred VPN servers spread across the world. There’s a 30 day money back guarantee, and you can even check which servers are running the fastest at the moment to make sure you get full download speed every time you sign in. Switch servers for free, and download with unlimited bandwidth.
The only complain I have about HMA is that their forum moderators are a bit…curt…and their email support can be very slow. I’m not sure which one should be your ‘go-to-guy’ for support, but both are lacking compared to PureVPN and StrongVPN. But hey, for six dollars a month, I can forgive them for this point because they have many other good features, including a free web based proxy, free anonymous uploading/downloading software, and even a current list of open proxy servers.
